I think this is the latest model which hopefully doesn't have any of the problems you had. Did you at least get your herbs to grow? Are you sure it’s the same one - the AeroGarden 3?

The Aerogrow people are nice enough to ship you the parts for free when the thing breaks, but it has been a hassle and a half. You should probably wait another year or so before you get one, let them improve the technology a bit. Unless you like constantly taking it apart.
